Roamer in Geography

Paint a street scene on a strip of paper, or use model houses built by the children. Each child chooses a house to “live” in. The Roamer “delivers” milk, letters, or newspapers. The children could give instructions singly (forward 1. Right 1) or in a sequence (forward 1, then move 1, then forward 1). Program the Roamer to make a sound on arrival at each house.

Ask the children to consider what the Roamer has to do in order to:

  • Move? How Far? In which direction?
  • Stop? - For how long?
